Tuesday November 4th at 2:00 pm: Survey follow-up Meeting. We will be continuing our discussion from last month on enhancing member experiences at the Club.
Wednesday, November 5th and Thursday, November 6th from 11am-4 pm: Grey Lodge Christmas Decorating
Tuesday November 11th and Thursday November 13th from 11am to 4 pm: Grey Lodge Christmas Decorating.
Wednesday, November 12th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm: Tour of the Akron History Center by David Leiberth, President of the Center. David is hosting a private tour of the Center for AWCC members. Attendance is limited, so please reserve early. Reservation deadline is November 4th.
Friday, November 14th at 12:00 pm: History Section: What's in your Jewelry Box? Dr. Mari Halkovich of Vintage Vanities Antique Jewelry will be at the meeting to help you assess the worth of your special pieces. Lunch will be $30.00. Prepaid reservations by November 7th, $10.00 cash fee for the History Fund at the door. THIS PROGRAM IS LIMITED TO 24 PEOPLE.
Wednesday, November 19th at 2:00pm: The Armchair Traveler-Let's Go! Enjoy a German Christmas. Christmas in Germany is magical! Deborah Marks will share her experiences while living in Germany of the weeks leading up to Christmas such as the Weihnachtsmaerkte und Nikolaustag as well as the highlight of the year, Christmas Eve. There will be samples of the taste of the season as well as music and examples of items sold at the Weihnachtsmaerkte. Come and enjoy a relaxing and informative afternoon while getting into the Christmas spirit. There will be a $5.00 cash fee at the door for the Armchair Traveler Fund.
Thursday, November 11th at 12:00 pm: Leaf and Blossom Club: How to Prepare Your Garden for Spring During the Winter. The speaker will be Jerry Salisbury, a Summit County Master Gardener, Emeritus. He will be talking about seed starting, stratification of seeds, propagation of plants, and more. There will be a lunch buffet from Acme. Tuesday November 25th and Wednesday November 26th: Prepaid Thanksgiving To Go orders due on Tuesday/order pickup from 12-3 pm on Wednesday.
Sunday, November 30th 1-4 pm: AWCC/Perkins Stone Mansion/Hower House Christmas Open House: This year we are joining with both the Summit County Historical Society and Hower House to start out the Christmas season with free tours for all members at all three locations. Non members will be charged $5.00 per house (discounted rate for both Perkins Stone Mansion and Hower House). A portion of the proceedings will be donated to the Dragon Dream Team, Ohio's first and only all-breast cancer survivor team.
