Merrill House, the present home of Janet and Bruce Taylor, is on the National Register of Historic Places.  The address is 32 Fir Hill, at the corner of Fir Hill and S. Forge Street.  It is across Forge Street from the Hower House.  Janet and Bruce will lead us through the first and second floors, telling of renovation surprises and nightmares and showing us architectural highlights.  There are 5 stairs to the porch with a hand railing and another step into the house.  There are 17 steps to the second floor with a railing ( going upstairs is optional). Members may be dropped off at the circular drive on the S. Forge street side of the house.  Parking is in the lot behind the house off of Fir Hill, which is clearly visible.  Transportation from the Club is available on a limited basis.  Contact Judy Stump to arrange a ride by September 6th.  Make reservations by September 4th at 330-762-6261.  A $5.00 donation going to the History Section to pay for future programs will be collected.  Light refreshments will be served.  Please see the flier at the end of this email.
