Monday, October 20th at 1:00: AWCC Members tour of The Coach House Theater. Makeshift Theater Chair Jane Bond has graciously volunteered to give members a tour of the newly renovated theater ( Many thanks to the member who suggested this to her!). Please call 330-762-6261 to reserve so that we can let Jane know how many will be attending. There is no charge for this event. Note that the Club is not open on Mondays.
Thursday October 23rd at 1:00 pm: The Shawshank Redemption Revealed: How one Story Keeps Hope Alive by David Dawidziak. After thirty-six years, The Shawshank Redemption has become one of the most cherished American films of the twentieth century and finest movies made from a Stephen King Story, The movie boasts a great story, great back story and great revival. It took a leap of faith by the financial backers, stars Tim Robbins and MOrgan Freeman, and a production company with an untested, first time film director. Starting as a box office disappointment, it has become this generation's Grapes of Wrath, an inspiring story about keeping hope alive in bleak times and under the most horrendous conditions. Lunch is $30.00. A $5.00 cash fee will be collected for the Book Club Fund. Members who wish to attend the talk but not have lunch may pay the $5.00 fee upon arrival. Friday, October 24th from 5-7 pm: Reception for Gallery 732 Artist Richard Willett. Come and meet Richard, view his work, and enjoy some light refreshments.
Friday and Saturday October 25th and 26th at 2:00: The Coach House Theater presents Senior Matinee performances of "An Afternoon with Jackie and Betty" (Jackie Kennedy and Betty Ford). Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased at makeshift.booktix.com or at the door.
Thursday, October 30th at 11:30 am. Witches Hat Luncheon. Cost is $35.00. Prepaid reservation deadline: October 24th. Call 330-762-6261 to pay by credit card, come to the Club to pay in person or with Eventbrite.
