Activities for April 2026
Tuesday, April 7th at 1:30 pm: Afternoon Chapter. Why come to just read your own book at the Club in shared silence? Because everyone reading is a beautiful sight. It can help you stay consistent with your reading goals, break a slump in your intention to read more, foster a unique sense of community and help you meet Club members who are also readers. Think of it as the Introvert’s Happy Hour. A bit of conversation at first, then reading for an hour, then optional chat or not. Low commitment, no deadlines, screen free, judgment free, free. These days, isn’t that just what you need?
Friday, April 10th; Lunch at 12:00, program at 12:50: History Section: Traitor! The Tragic Life of Benedict Arnold with Carl Quatraro. How could Colonial America’s most renowned battlefield general become the most despised man in America? Here is the sad tale of an ex-patriot who sought honor and glory but received the opposite. Buffet luncheon will be chicken Linguine and Salad for $30.00. Prepaid reservations deadline is April 3rd. A $5.00 cash fee will be collected for the History Section Fund.

We will begin with an appetizer of caviar accompanied by Champagne. Our first course will be vichyssoise, followed roast poulet (chicken), pommes roties (potatoes) and haricot verts (green beans) with baguette bread. Dessert will be pastries and fromage (cheese).
